Map paintings

Prepared as part of the Space, Time and Identity exhibition to explore the hidden meaning in maps. Features such tectonic movement, or geographic location and human intervention, with roads and buildings, represented as a flat surface. These shapes, lines and structure are open to interpretation. Experimenting, adding screen printing, charcoal, paint and collage, blooms of colour using oil stick or acrylic paint. Recent work has incorporated female forms, drawn to fit within the matrix of the map.
